Intended Use

The DMC50 is designed for 12V auxiliary battery systems in automotive, caravan, marine, and off-grid applications, for use in the United States, Australia, and Canada. It is not intended for grid-connected or utility-interactive systems, life-support or safety-critical applications, or battery systems above 12V nominal. Installation should be performed by a qualified installer or a technically competent user familiar with high-current DC systems.

Diagram comparing a traditional multi-component 12V wiring setup to the integrated ARK system

One enclosure, not five boxes

Traditional 12V setups wire together a separate MPPT charger, AC-DC charger, DC-DC charger, busbar, smart shunt, comms network and display. The DMC50 combines all of this into one unit with a single set of input and output connections.

What's Inside

Every function below is part of the same enclosure and the same firmware.

50A DC-DC Charging

Buck-boost charging from a vehicle alternator, 9–46V input range, automatic buck/boost switching.

Adaptive MPPT Solar

Self-tuning solar charging up to 46V input, designed to hold output steady in low light and partial shade.

AC-DC Charging

23A charging from an ARK-approved 24V adaptor, sharing the solar input port.

Vehicle Sense Technology

Detects engine operation automatically — no ignition wire to run.

500A Busbar & Smart Shunt

Battery negative routes through an integrated shunt; no external monitor or busbar block needed.

3x MEGA Fuse Slots

Field-serviceable fuse protection for load circuits, built into the main power block.

Lithium Recovery Mode

Limited, time-boxed recovery charge (7A, 2 min max) for batteries shut down by BMS protection.

Onboard Display + Wi-Fi

Local display plus a built-in Wi-Fi captive portal — monitor from a phone, tablet or laptop, no app required.

4-Step Thermal Derating

Output steps down automatically above 80°C and recovers once temperature drops, instead of cutting out.
