Ben my apologies as maybe I misunderstood your issues . Yes your trailer is way less then the 5,000 pound rating. So your failure happend because your trailer rolled and the Ark did not turn 360 degrees with the trailer. Or where you just going way off camber and it failed then? You say the rock n roll is more robust but the Ark is beefier and much heavier then the lock n roll. I assume the green lock was down and the hitch was down all the way on the ball. Maybe you could explain exactly what happened?
Bart man, my trailer weighs under 600 pounds, that being said this hitch should handle that without any problems with the specs that they are stating, the issue is that this hitch is only a 360 degree, and the articulation is relied on the ball, which we all know they suck. I’m glad yours is working well, but for my needs I need something more robust like the lock and roll.
First off Ben showed a picture of his coupler saying it failed and to buy a lock n roll. I think this review is BS. Not a fan of the lock n roll design. PITA to hook up when off road. You need a truck and trailer parts. My guess is his trailer exceeds 5k pounds. My ARK has been rocking for three years now. Had a recovery and having a ball hitch made things much easier.
